VPN Disconnects After Android Screen-Off: Background Checks

If a connection stops after screen-off and works again when the app opens, background limits are worth checking. Timing alone does not identify the cause. Record the app state and change one setting at a time.

Identify what actually stopped

Connect to the same route and note the time before locking. After waking, inspect the app status before testing the same page. An app exit, a disconnected VPN and one failed page are separate observations, not proof of a bad server.

Review background battery access

Google Pixel help describes app battery and background-use controls. Other Android brands may use different menus; follow your device settings. This is not a Yunbao-specific feature.

Run two comparable trials

  1. Keep the device, Wi-Fi and route fixed; record status and waiting time.
  2. Inspect the Yunbao app battery controls; if background access is restricted, temporarily adjust only that app.
  3. Repeat the same waiting period and record app exit, disconnection and page loading separately.
  4. If there is no improvement, restore the original setting and report model, OS version and times to distinguish a network change from an app exit.
