Separate response codes from timeout
DNS defines Name Error and Server Failure as different response codes, commonly shown as NXDOMAIN and SERVFAIL. A timeout means no timely response, not a nonexistent-name answer; no A record alone does not establish that the whole name is absent.
Collect enough evidence before reporting
- Verify the complete current hostname with client information or official support rather than reusing an old screenshot.
- Record device, network, time, resolver and query type, redacting account or private names.
- With existing nslookup or dig, preserve response status and answers instead of only a failure summary; avoid unknown tools.
- Repeat once on the same network and report NXDOMAIN, SERVFAIL and timeout separately. Preserve the full returned address set.
- Compare an expected address only when officially supplied, not inferred from location databases, and ask the domain or network operator to investigate.
DNS success does not establish VPN success
An address answer establishes a result for that query only. Port access, TLS, protocol authentication and destination access are separate stages. Lookup failure does not establish a powered-off server. No internal Yunbao node parameters are provided here.
