HTTP 403, 404 or 502 on a VPN: Different from a Timeout

An error page or HTTP code does not mean no server answered. Distinguish responses from lookup or connection failures, then inspect the path rather than treating an API root as a real client request.

Content updated:

Read the code without inventing a cause

HTTP defines 403 as refusing a request, 404 as not finding the resource or not disclosing its existence, and 502 as a gateway receiving an invalid upstream response. None alone proves account failure, wrong DNS or failure of every VPN route.

Keep the exact address and response

  1. Record domain, port, path and time and redact account, token and order query parameters.
  2. Return through the service official entry instead of guessing an old path; an API root may not serve a web page.
  3. Preserve an actual HTTP status and message. If a tool shows only 000 or timeout, record its error rather than treating 000 as a standard HTTP status.
  4. Repeat the same address once and inspect familiar pages to separate one path, one site and overall connectivity.
  5. Send evidence to site or client support and follow normal sign-in and permission procedures without spoofing requests or bypassing a 403.

A response does not guarantee success

Even HTTP 200 requires checking the actual page or client result; it does not establish successful sign-in, payment or VPN authentication. Include the Yunbao message and time. No internal API parameters are provided here.
