Check the name on your version
Apple now places Connectivity Assist in Wi-Fi settings, replacing the earlier Wi-Fi Assist in Cellular settings. It can use cellular data when Wi-Fi is poor; older software may show a different location.
Run one controlled comparison
- Record iOS version, Wi-Fi, VPN route and starting cellular usage without resetting counters.
- Find Connectivity Assist under Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi Assist under Cellular on older software; note its original state.
- For a Wi-Fi-only comparison temporarily turn assistance off. Do not substitute airplane mode when calls must remain available.
- Keep the VPN route fixed and compare one small page briefly, noting network switches and disconnects.
- Restore your preferred setting afterward. Report weak-Wi-Fi differences to the network provider and preserve logs for continuing disconnects.
Separate usage from tunnel state
A cellular counter cannot prove a request used the VPN, and disabling assistance does not guarantee an uninterrupted tunnel. Yunbao handover behavior has not been measured here.
