Identify the feature and scope
Apple offers iCloud Private Relay with iCloud+ for Safari browsing, with regional availability limits. It differs from the MAC setting Private Wi-Fi Address. Its toggle alone does not identify the actual exit when combined with a particular VPN.
Change one factor at a time
- Record iOS version, network, VPN route and time; use one Safari tab and test URL.
- Inspect Private Relay under Apple Account and iCloud, preserving its state. Do not buy a subscription or change region just for this test.
- For one trusted failing site, look for Show IP Address in Safari’s Page Menu as a temporary comparison. Apple notes the reduced browsing privacy for that site.
- If the system reports network incompatibility, inspect Limit IP Address Tracking in that Wi-Fi network’s information page. Note the original state; avoid changing managed settings or every network.
- Retry on the same VPN route and network, note page behavior and IP family, then restore the appropriate privacy choice.
- Report Safari-versus-app differences and the single setting tested without exposing account or configuration links.
Keep conclusions within the test
A Safari-only change is a clue for browsing-path investigation, not proof of device-wide VPN coverage or a server fault. No Yunbao/Private Relay combination behavior is guaranteed; permanent privacy disablement is not the goal.
