Yunbao VPN

Usage and troubleshooting

Does a Phone Hotspot Share Its VPN Route with a Computer?

A computer joining a phone hotspot establishes shared network access, not proof that it uses the phone VPN route. Check both devices separately to assess the path.

Record hotspot and VPN states separately

Apple describes Personal Hotspot as sharing an iPhone internet connection. This is not proof that Yunbao supports hotspot proxying, and this guide makes no promise that a particular phone system forwards VPN traffic.

Compare the two devices

  1. Confirm that the computer uses the intended phone hotspot and note Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth access.
  2. Use the same trusted IP-check page on both devices and note each exit IP and time without publishing browsing history.
  3. Keep the hotspot fixed and compare both devices before and after connecting the phone VPN during an interruption-tolerant test.
  4. Check whether the computer already has its own VPN or proxy so its settings are not mistaken for a hotspot effect.
  5. For Yunbao on the computer, choose its desktop app from the official site and follow supported setup rather than relying on the phone indicator.

Matching exits do not prove identical traffic coverage

A page query observes that request only. Matching IPs do not establish identical routing for every app, IPv6 or other traffic. If they differ, check timing and computer settings before sending the comparison to support.
