Identify the transfer
Microsoft describes Delivery Optimization as sharing update content between PCs. This differs from uploading personal documents. Compare Task Manager network activity with Windows Update activity; outbound traffic alone establishes neither a data leak nor a VPN fault.
Compare one task at a time
- Record the time, updates and foreground upload task. System-wide traffic is not the same as one app’s traffic.
- Find Delivery Optimization under Windows Update advanced options; paths vary. Consult IT for managed devices.
- If peer sharing is unnecessary, disable downloads from other PCs under your network policy. Updates can still come directly from Microsoft.
- Keep the VPN, network and foreground task unchanged and compare activity. One brief drop is not a sustained bandwidth measurement.
- Keep the appropriate setting afterward. If traffic remains, identify the process and other sync jobs rather than repeatedly changing routes.
Choose the next check
If a foreground task improves when update sharing stops, investigate competing activity. Otherwise inspect app errors and upload permissions. No tested speed or Yunbao update-management feature is claimed.
